Grant’s First Stand (1961) is a seminal, high-energy soul-jazz debut by guitarist Grant Green, featuring Baby Face Willette (organ) and Ben Dixon (drums). It is praised for its blues-soaked, groove-heavy, and efficient trio format, particularly in the Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series which features all-analog mastering. The album is considered an essential, accessible entry point into Green’s discography
